A Greensboro man who was shot on March 30 faces charges stemming from an assault, while his shooter and another man have charges for their role in the aftermath.
En route to responding to an assault call on N.C. 65 in Summerfield just before midnight on March 30, Rockingham County sheriff's deputies received another call of a shooting victim at the same address.
Upon arrival, deputies found Gary Lee Goodman had suffered a gunshot wound to the leg. Goodman was transported to Moses Cone Hospital for treatment of injuries which appeared to not be life-threatening. He is still receiving treatment for his injuries.
Goodman, 35, of Steeplechase Road in Greensboro, was charged with felony possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and felony indecent liberties with a minor.
Tara Rashae Cashwell, 33, of N.C. 65 in Summerfield, was charged with felony assault with a deadly weapon, inflicting serious injury. Angus Dixon Cashwell, 30, of Buildwell Drive in Greensboro, was charged with felony possession of a deadly weapon by a convicted felon. Tara and Dixon Cashwell were at large as of press time.
