Spirits still high at Gideon Grove
Clean-up efforts slated to begin this week; plans to rebuild coming together

Shortly before Christmas, a peaceful evening turned nightmarish for a community church and its members.

But out of that pain grew a determination that though Gideon Grove United Methodist Church's house of worship was destroyed, its spirit would live on.

Clean-up efforts to remove the rubble from the burned sanctuary began the week of Feb. 11 and should be wrapped up by around Feb. 20. Once the land is cleared, work can begin on rebuilding.
