A look at the Stokesdale water tank from underneath during the washout.
The process of cleaning Stokesdale's water tank took place on Feb. 6.
The tank was emptied, pressure washed and then underwent an inspection of its interior. Charlie McGougan, of the civil engineering firm Marziano & McGougan, who is overseeing the washout, said once the inspection is complete and the results are satisfactory, the tank would be sterilized and refilled.
Once the tank is refilled, a water sample is then analyzed for bacteria. If the sample tests negative for any bacteriological growth, the valve can be opened for the tank to again provide storage for the system.
